Sidebar height w/ photo galleries

I run a photo gallery below some of my posts, I just enter the name of the gallery like svgallery=mygallery or whatever. My problem is that I want my sidebar to extend down further than it does, basically to the end of the post, including the gallery. I don’t want to hard-code a sidebar height because some posts are shorter than others, is there a way to make the sidebar height equal to the post body height?

My sidebar is white BG with a 1px left border, I want that to extend down further.
