    Hi Jeff,

This means you probably use the PHP version 5.2. The functionality which this line refers to was introduced in PHP 5.3, so we strongly recommend to ask your hosting company for upgrade of the PHP engine to at least 5.3.X.

But if you’d like to benefit from the speed and security upgrade, try to use 5.4, 5.5, or even 5.6.

We’ve heard that soon the PHP 5.6 will be the recommended version for the WordPress.
