Anyone got any ideas how to insert a div into a post? I want a little box that will highlight text but WP keeps stripping it out.

I read about Sniplets but there might be a security risk – I’m not even sure if Sniplets will do the job.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks!

  • Just disable that damned wysiwyg/visual editor. Don’t switch between Code/Visual. Kill the Visual for good.

Yes, thankyou Moshu. I came to that same conclusion myself! The only thing that worries me is that on my test blog all the p elements have now been stripped, presumably because of that. Somehow. Hopefully it’s just one of those things and won’t happen again.

Ah, that editor! How long will it be before someone does something about it? I’ve looked at all the workarounds and they involve digging around, plus the examples shown were for previous versions of WP. That editor is getting a SERIOUSLY bad name for itself now.

Does anyone know the files in the editor that does the HTML stripping? I would at least try and take a stab at editing the code directly so it limits the tags being stripped. Having to disable the visual editor in the user profile, while effective, is not a very elegant way of solving this issue since having a WYSIWYG feature is very useful to those of us that do a fair amount of editing on our sites.

I would be remiss if I did not also thank the folks here great effort on supporting the best open source blogging platform on the web. — ZZ
