Broken Login (Domain issue)

    I need help logging into my account. I got a new custom domain name through GoDaddy (fearlessbeans.com) and I tried to switch the domain through my WP.org settings. The domain at GoDaddy is forwarded to heyebeansbooks.com. When I switched the address in my URL on WP Admin, it let me do it. BUT, I see, this may have been a mistake.
    It was originally heyebeansbooks.com, and I had the domain: fearlessbeans.com redirected to the original. I think I messed with the domains redirections because I can no longer log into my account — this all happened after I went though on the Admin and changed the Domain URLs.

    now heyebeansbooks.com does not “exist” in WP Admin and I can not sign onto my site to edit it. HELP!!! ?? I

  • The best solution for getting another domain name for a website if you aren’t experienced with WP is to just do a 301 redirect of the new domain so that you don’t have to rewrite all your url’s in your database.

    You’ll probably have to login to phpmyadmin and change your site url in wp_options.

    Hey there,
    Thanks for the info. I am VERY new to WP.org. I downloaded phpmyadmin, but I’m not sure where to go from there. It’s just a zip folder of things…

    Background info, I don’t have software installed to my computer. I don’t know how to do that.. for the longest time I thought i was working w/ wordpress.com, but apparently not. I logged into the account online and used the dashboard.

    Basically taking over the account for a friend, and now I am VERY lost…

    It’s very weird…

    I can sign in from my iPad on the WP app… with my username and password, but when i try to actually get into admin on a browser (safari on iPad, chrome on computer) I can not sign in. It doesn’t even say I have the wrong password, just “refreshes” the login page. I tried to get a new password, but the email never sends. Has that happened to anyone else?
