Duplication of seasons problem

I didn’t see the Hershey competition on the link you gave. But from my knowledge, if you go to SportsPress->Seasons you should only have one Season created there and link that one season to both the indoor and outdoor league.

I’m not sure if that’s how you have it set up or not, but it sounds like you created two “2015” seasons.

Ok, then i might be doing something wrong.

BTW, the reason you didn’t see the duplicate is being i have been playing with it trying to figure it out, and reverted back to normal before i messed anything up.

Anyways, my understanding is that in order to SportPress to work, we create a “Competition”, and within that competition, are your seasons. Is this correct or are those 2 things different? In my case, our team plays in 2 leagues, one in the summer (outdoor) and one in the winter (indoor). Therefore i create our summer league under “Competition” as TSSL (league) and within the TSSL competition, there is the 2015 season. Now that indoor is approaching, i decided to create the indoor “Competition” as Hershey (league) and within that competition, the indoor season.

Now i am not sure if this is correct or not and if competition as suppose to work with seasons, or if you pick one or the other, but i definitely confused! any help greatly appreciated!

So you have the two Competitions created (indoor and outdoor).

How many Seasons did you create? Did you create just 2 seasons (like 2015 and 2016)?

Or did you do 4 Seasons indoor – 2015 and 2016. Outdoor – 2015 and 2016.

For now i would have 2 competitions – indoor and outdoor, and 2 seasons – 2015 (outdoor) and 2015-1 (first indoor season).

Season 2015 outdoor would be under outdoor competition, and 2015-1 would have to be under indoor.

As you see, there is a duplication on the seasons for whatever reason. I create 2 competitions – indoor and outdoor, and created 2 season 2015 for outdoor and 2015-2 for indoor.

Now in the stats of the players, for whatever reason it is duplicating the seasons where they dont belong, such as the 2015-2 season showing under Outdoor competition, when it shouldnt and vice-versa.

Also, only the 2015-2 season (indoor) is showing under career totals.

A little stumped!

I’m not sure if this will fix the problem for you, but try going to Edit Player and select the Team that they are playing on for each Season, and if they aren’t playing in that Season then you want to select “No Team”

I think I may have come across this issue myself, so what I did is went into each Team that I have created, and added every Season in SportsPress, that way it enables the drop-down menu in the Player edit screen.

When there is no drop-down menu and SportsPress has (None) team listed by default, it somehow shows duplicate seasons. So you just need to make it a drop-down menu, so you can select (None) manually and it should disappear.

I think this is something that should be included in a fix but i am not sure why this is happening without doing the above. I find it odd that i have to add our teams to both indoor and outdoor leagues even though they are 2 different leagues and season/teams

FWIW, our site is a team site and not a league site, we only list other teams but not their rosters for both our outdoor and indoor season.

Maybe have an option to simplify Sportspress for individual team portals instead of full blown league management?
