Multiple blogs on one installation?

I’m currently working on a rewrite for my site and I am planning on having a separate personal blog from my more public one.
Is it possible to have multiple blogs on a single installation? I found that setting the $cat variable will return entries for te specified category but I want to have archives and the calendar listed also. Is there a way to have the calendar only show a specific category?
