Radio buttons and email not required fields?

It does require the email now so pulling and reinstalling that tag apparently fixed something, but it still does not require the radio buttons.

It’s your theme’s issue that the theme makes the validation errors invisible. Try switching to the default theme (twentyfifteen).

As for radio buttons, making one of the options pre-checked (using default:(num) option) is recommended. See Checkboxes, Radio Buttons and Menus.
