  • Can you check what your permalinks are in the admin area? Go to the Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks. What are they set to there?

Format looks good, so maybe you need to “bump” it a bit. Change the permalink settings, save, change it back to what you want, save, try again.

Edited the slug in the post and saved. Deleted cache and reloaded webpage. Still reverts to ?post_type=type_event&p=3510

Hm, is this for all posts and pages or just posts? Maybe opening up your .htaccess file in the root of your site and pasting the code here?

Regular pages DO follow the permalink structure it seems: https://bottomlounge.com/contact/

Are you using a specific plugin for custom post types fo the events? (or is that built in the theme perhaps?). I’m wondering if the posts of type “event” have their own permalink structure settings, ignoring the standard WordPress ones.

I can’t seem to find the .htaccess file.

There is a plugin that manages event fields in the admin panel called Custom Field Suite. Disabling that does not alter the permalink/url.

Custom Fields wouldn’t have anything to do with it, I do think it is the way the theme handles the Custom Post type.

When you edit an event, are you able to change the permalink for that specific event (right below the title)?

The theme, is it paid or free, or custom?

When editing, I am able to edit the permalink, and if I click on View Event, the page it takes me to has the correct url (i.e. the custom permalink I have edited).

Our theme is custom, and the developer is not available for support.

    Hi BL-Zach,

I’m having the same problem as you, after the update, the posts for my events that are in the future, the permalink isn’t working. I have tired to flush the permalinks via settings but it’s still not working.

How did you manage to get you issue resolved?

    Thanks

@oonaghmcd – per the forum guidelines, please post your own help topic. Though your issue is similar to the OP’s, the likelihood of you and the original poster using the same hosting company, with both sites running on the exact same server, both using the same version of WordPress, running the exact same plugins and using the exact same theme are extremely unlikely.

This issue has not been resolved. Anyone have any more ideas?
