  • Thanks for you input. I am experiencing the same issue.
I am having a some trouble with your instructions. I have added your code around the contents of the functions but the main menu disappeared in the process.

Would you be able to post the entire code here so I can see where I’m going wrong?

    Thanks in advance

Sure no problem. I uploaded my modified version of the file here: https://pastebin.com/CkWfgqnT

The function starts at line 37, the relevant modification is in line 40.

    Cheers

Thanks for that. I had the correct code but it looks like I have a different problem. The alternative menu is displaying correctly but the main menu doesn’t. It must have something to do with my theme

I fear I can′t help you there very much.

Have you turned debugging on in your wp_config.php? This may provide some useful information. Also if you have access to the server logs there may be some information in the webserver logs as well as in the syslog (at least on Debian systems PHP logs errors there by default).

I found the issue. The theme had a different name for the main menu. I simply changed the variable ‘primary’ for the themes own variable and it worked.

Thanks for your help and your awesome bit of code
