  • No. PMPro leaves your WP roles alone. Users can have any WP role and still be assigned to a PMPro level; the PMPro part is separate.

    By default when creating a new WP user on signup, PMPro assigns them the Subscriber role. A user can hold any WP role and also be a “gold member” in your example.
