I’m trialing the free version and on my sites that are hosted on WPEngine the backups fail error messages like this one:

0014.795 (0) [Warning] A zip error occurred – check your log for more details.
0014.802 (0) The attempt to close the zip file returned an error (PCLZIP_ERR_READ_OPEN_FAIL (-2) : Unable to open file ‘/nas/wp/www/cluster-40187/swcm/wp-content/mysql.sql’ in binary read mode). List of files we were trying to add follows (check their permissions).

    Hi,

On WP-Engine, that file path (wp-content/mysql.sql) appears to be some special unreadable file that they have – I am not sure for what purpose. So, in their context, it is normal – you can ignore the warning; it’s not part of your WP site directly (not needed for a complete backup), but something at WP Engine’s end. To find out exactly what, you’d need to ask them (I’d be interested to hear).

Thank you! I think that answers my question.

I wish there was a way that “warnings” like this could be marked as “don’t worry about it” so that the backup results would not be summarized as “completed with warnings”.

    Thanks, though.

    Hi,

You can just add ‘mysql.sql’ to the list of files to exclude: the “Exclude these” setting under “Any other directories found inside wp-content” in the file backup settings. Then it’ll be skipped without any notices.

I see you also opened a pre-sales question at updraftplus.com with the same question – I’ll close that without further reply, since it’s been answered here.
