This style is also great but maybe with half of the right column cut off.

Sorry to keep asking, but I’d like to get working on something. Anybody have ideas? I just can’t find anything in the themes database like this stuff.

For the https://www.wnyc.org/news/ site create a main container div and use background image with drop shawdow on both sides. Add a header and menu div. Then add four column’s. Finish by adding your footer div.

I have created a mock up of this site. The WordPress Theme Viewer currently does not allow new themes to be uploaded. When it does I will upload a working theme.

mlcarey1959 … I certainly would like to receive your mock up of the wnyc.org/news site. It looks like something I’ve been wanting to use for our web site.
I have a Journal which contains religious material but want to present it in a ‘newsy’ kind of way.

I hope I can get the mock-up.

kbrowder, I knew I wasn’t the only one looking for something clean and concise like the WNYC website. I just can’t find anything on the theme database.

Here is the initial mockup. It displays correctly in the latest IE NS FF and Opera browsers. I should have a complete working WordPress Blog in a few days.

If you’re taking suggestions, here are mine :
No shadow on left border or lighter shadow
Perhaps a similar “newsroom” bar on the right side with options to insert your own mini-headers.

I had a problem adjusting the gradient fill for the background shadows. They did not come out like I wanted so I changed the background image. You can check it out here: MLCarey
