I just purchased a new domain from GoDaddy and am hosting it on iPage. Uploaded all the wordpress files to filezilla and tried to access the wp-admin/install.php page but the error says page not found. I’ve already directed the nameservers at GoDaddy to iPage and set up MySQL DB, an FTP login and added the domain to iPage. For the wp-config.php file I’ve also updated all the changes accordingly. I don’t understand why the page is still not found? And when I go to the main domain page it says I have no permission to access the folders.

Can anybody help please? Would really appreciate it ! Thanks in advanced!

Everything is coming up as 403 Forbidden at that domain, I recommend checking with your hosting provider about that.

It’s really rare for the entire fresh site to be coming back as that if all you did was attempt to install WordPress.

Have to tried free hosting .try to install wp on free hosting and check your self that you are doing correct procedure to install wp.

Is it possible that I have to transfer my domain from GoDaddy to iPage? Would that be a necessary step to get the site up and running ?

No, you’ve directed the name servers to iPage, that should be enough. It appears there is something wrong with your hosting account or configuration.

Fixed it. Turns out I had neglected to point the domain to the right subdirectory. Thanks for your help, James!
