Shortcodes and html

Hello – I am enjoying your plugin so far – thank you! However, I have checked the box to allow shortcodes, and unfortunately, shortcodes do not work. As an alternative, I have tried also to wrap some text in a heading tag, but the html is not carrying over. Thank you in advance for your help!
