My homepage is broken because of 4.3 WordPress.
Why no notices about changes? Just automatically break website functionality?

That would be something to bring up with Revolution Slider. It’s not like they don’t know that a new version is coming out, or that it was in rather public Beta and RC testing for over a month…

Also broke my Revolution Slider. It’s not really good enough to blame them – there should be a warning that, if you use Revolution Slider, you’ll need to upgrade before moving to 4.3!!

How would we know? It’s not WordPress’ responsibility to test all the 45k plugins hosted here and the millions elsewhere.

It is the responsibility of the plugin and theme developers to test their code against the Release Candidates of WordPress.

    Period.

This release date has been published for six months. We publicly released betas and release candidates. We emailed every single plugin developer on www.remarpro.com (which by the way, RevSlider is not) about this update and asked them to test over a week ago.

We did everything we could short of smoke signals.

RevSlider is not hosted here, however, and it’s a premium plugin for paid users only.

We try our best to help everyone with any WordPress problem. However, due to the great variety of existing themes and plugins it is nearly impossible to know everything. Your best chance is to contact the developer for support. It’s always best to go to where the theme/plugin is officially supported when trying to get support.

Double posting becuase RevSlider claims to have fixed this:

please update to 5.0.4.1 which is available since a few minutes now

How long will it take wordpress to make the Revolution Slider update available in the plugins? I too have a broken slider. ??

Do not very many themes include varying versions of this plugin?

Just a follow up to help anyone else with this problem.
I updated the Revolution Slider through my theme, which came with it. You may be able to get the update directly from the slider developer.
When I updated it, for some reason it removed some of my slider backgrounds. So, I re-selected them on each slide and saved it.
Upon selecting a new background, the slider automatically defaulted all of my text to 20px. So, I had to select all of the text layers, resize and re-position them, and saved the slide.
Now it all looks as it should.

I’m not sure why an update messed up my backgrounds or text sizes. That’s pretty dangerous when it took hours to create and it was saved. I thought once it was saved, no other operation would mess up my creation but it did. Now I’m trying to figure out how to back up my slides because they would be difficult to recreate from scratch.
Anyway, I hope this helps anyone else with this problem.

@kmkulesza RevSlider isn’t hosted on www.remarpro.com, as such we won’t be pushing any updates for it, and you will have to get the update your self from the plugin vendor (see the URL posted by Mika) or any update mechanic they’ve implemented them selves.

I had the same issue. After updating to 4.3 and the latest version of Rev Slider, text containers on my site became narrow, causing the text to wrap.

What I discovered is that any text that I had applied a custom text style to wasn’t displaying corrected. So I selected individual blocks of text, one by one, and renamed and reapplied styles.

The other thing I had to do to fix this was to resize the text frames in the slide editor (by pulling the right center handle to make the text frame wider than before.

    Very strange update.
