WP Grins called when uncalled for – slows homepage by 2.4 seconds

  • My blog homepage does not have a comments section, so why are the grins loaded (not displayed, just loaded)?

    Firebug/YSlow shows the icons take from 1.6 s to 2.4 s to load.

    I searched my plugins page for “grin” and “smil”, but, as per my memory, I have not installed anything else which includes smilies.
