• Hi there,
I dont seem to be able to find a function that enables an email to be sent from within WP to all members. Is there one?
    Thanks

  • No. There isn’t. I don’t think there ever will be. Registering to your blog they didn’t sign up for unsolicited mail…

    moshu,
Thanks for the information. It’s not my blog am being asked these questions by the owner of the site so am just finding out.
I think it would be a great plug in though. Just add a “would you like to receive updates check box” this would satisfy any anti spam legislation and make WP a more powerful marketing tool as well. Especially given that any of us can harvest the email addresses from the sql database and add them to an email list anyway.
I appreciate your continued assistance as well.

This one i think tho is the pick of the bunch from various reviews and having a look at it myself.

Thanks for the links. I’ll check them out.

Just curious…..I’ve seen the comment before that just signing up for your blog does not mean they want unsolicited email. I would like to understand this more….

What other reason would there be to register with someone’s blog than to keep abreast of new posts? I suppose some blogs only allow you to comment if you are registered. But other than that, what other reason would a user have for signing up? I get registrations all the time, and my blog does NOT require any registration to read it, comment, or anything else. If they are signing up, they must expect something from me…no?? I’m not the most experienced blogger, but I do set up blogs for others frequently — so I’m just curious about this.

    Thanks for any comments/explanation.

spam basically – they fill your site with links to their site(s) in the hope of driving traffic

look for the plugin email users. that can help?
