confirmation during the buying process

  • Dear,

    During the buying process would it be possible to add a way to get a confirmation from a third party of choice or from the same shop that for example the product is still available?

    Something like an email to somebody to confirm the product availability?

    For example just before to pay wait for the confirmation?

    Hey there Kash,

    How are you doing today?

    To have that specifically is definitely possible but it would require making modifications to checkout process which would have to be custom developed.

    As an alternative you could just use the stock option in the plugin. You can find the option in Products -> Create New -> Product Details by using the “Inventory”, see screenshot https://screencast.com/t/JwOH7a0pa.

    Number added there represents stock, number of items available for sale. Every time product is purchased, number is being deducted by a number of products purchased.

    Hey again Kash,

    The number you should use there is the actual number of products you have in stock.

    So for example if you have 10 products in your stock, add number 10 there.

    Once someone purchases that product, that number will be changed to 9 automatically, once it hits 0 it will display out of stock on the front. You should be able to edit that code in the admin when editing products in any given time.

    I’ve read again my response and I made mistake in one sentence which might confused you, sorry.

    You should be able to edit that code in the admin when editing products in any given time.

    What I meant to say you should be able to edit this number at any given time in product in your admin.

    Aside from that please let me know which specific part is unclear to your regarding this option and I’ll be more then happy to help.

    I think I understand what you mean.
    But I would like more to have a confirmation each time somebody buys something.

    So not only an inventory or availability confirmation.

    I was thinking more like a third party confirmation on each purchase. So not only an inventory indication.

    Hey again Kash,

    I understand what you mean, generally there are order confirmation emails that you receive once purchase is made.

    However, those emails are not being sent due to the bug in the plugin. We are already working on a major MarketPress update that will also include fix for this.

    So once update is released you’ll be able to receive emails on every product purchase.
