• I’ve been hacking away at my site again. In a combo move, I both figured out how to get my category pages to display a list of titles, rather than full posts and got a nifty dropdown category selector working that is XHTML 1.1 valid.

I’m not suggesting anyone should actually use my code, but I’m posting in case it’s helpful to anyone else trying to figure this out. I came across quite a few posts in here on both of the above subjects that just didn’t quite answer my questions. Hopefully, this will help.

  • Thanks so much! I had a similar archive listing thing going on before I switched to WP that showed only titles and dates.

    Next step:
I’m going to put a switch on the index page to look and see if this is a “category display” page. If it is, use the code I’m currently using for view.php. If not, use the standard index.php code. That way, I don’t need a view.php page and it keeps a number of things much simpler. Shouldn’t be too hard to do, either, just a simple if statement.
