Failure to obtain files via self-hosted CDN
-
I am having an issue, after following advice on speeding up my website via W3TC. Basically, the suggested strategy/settings:
Install W3TC, set to “Generic Mirror”, in “CDN” fill “Replace site’s hostname with:” with a subdomain (which is to be created). In cpanel (Bluehost for me) create aforementioned subdomain in public_html and change the A record to CNAME. So far, so good.I had to delete the TXT record also, in order to be able to create the CNAME record.
For some reason this does not work. The browser tries to access the required files on the subdomain but does not find them there (500 error). I tried this on several hosts with the same results.
Do I have to copy the files over to the subdomain? What can I do?Thanks in advance for your patience and support!
