Blocked URL's not working?

Hi Anna,

The blocks on IP addresses expire after a period of time. The default block is 5 minutes when an IP breaks a rule. You can make the block time longer in Options or click on the “Block this IP” link from the page you included in the screenshot to make the block permanent.

Is this a new installation of Wordfence or have you had it running for a while?

@wfbrian – thanks for the speedy response. Appreciate it much. To reply:

My blocks on IP Address times are 10 days for the Firewall Rules and 20 Days for the Login Security Options.

In addition, the WF Other Option clearly states “IMMEDIATELY block…”.

As can be seen in the OP screenshot the IP# in question is neither “immediately blocked” nor is it blocked for the 10 or 20 day period set in my WF Options.

Yes, it’s been up a while and fwiw I have other sites up even longer exhibiting the same behaviors..

Sounds like a possible issue with the database tables since IP addresses are not being added. You could try a running a repair on the Wordfence MySQL tables and see if that helps.

If it comes to it, removing Wordfence and table data and doing a fresh install will assure you that the tables are functioning properly. You can even export your current settings and reimport them after the reinstall.

I’m off to Uninstall/Reinstall on a few more sites now…

I’ve deactivated, cleared tables and deleted.

then re-installed and WF just picked up ALL prior settings from the site! What’s with that?

I just wanted a clean install…

I had never saved the option to ‘delete tables…’ on deactivation. Duh!!

Thanks for the follow-ups! I’ll mark this post as “resolved” since you mentioned that the blocking is working now, but your other related issue with the “wfcache” code in .htaccess is still open.
