I’m seeing “ReferenceError: countdown_wpdevart_timer is not defined” errors in my browser javascript console. Since the spinner is from our ajax-based achievement display, it’s not able to complete the request due to the error from elsewhere. From the looks of it, that countdown_wpdevart_timer bit is coming from the countdown widget spot in the upper right.

My hunch says the achievement display will work as expected if you temporary removed the widget. If so, then we know the cause of issues.

One of javascripts’ unfortunate traits is that errors/issues from completely unrelated code can halt execution of everything else after it.

It’s not the countdown timer. I’m still getting the same problem even after disabling it. Not just on my computer, but also on my tablet.

Can you try without the LiveChat plugin enabled as well? I was able to get some errors related to that one to show up.

    Still the same result.

Hrm. Something’s preventing the ajax from completing, and I’ve run out of console errors to test with. It’s working on my barebones local install, so I’m not believing it’s a bug overall in the code, it’s something specific to this install. I just don’t know what and there’s not much I can do without more access to the install, if I were to further debug personally.

I can disable all the other plugins I’ve got going and see if it works. Then re-enable them one by one until it doesn’t to see if I can find the problem plugin.

Deactivated just about every plugin and now all that shows up on the page is pure white. No content at all.

Well the admin-ajax.php file is accessible like needed. When I visited it manually, I got a numeral zero back which is expected.

White screen likely happened because something on the page load caused a php fatal error.

Is this site still in development? or is it a live site that you’re carefully trying to debug?

Reactivated the plugins and the site came back. Your guess is as good as mine on fixing this one.

Site’s live and functional. Something’s fouled up somewhere and preventing the plugin from working. What, I haven’t a clue.

Willing to grant me a temporary admin account so that I can poke things with a spork?

    Thread Starter JRash

    (@jrash)

Sounds like that’s the only solution at this point. Can I ask that you avoid messing with the facebook login widget, woocommerce and BWP SEO? They were all a lot of work to get setup.
I can downgrade the temp admin account after you fiddle with things, if you want to keep tabs on the site and maybe enjoy the content, if you’d like.

michael @ webdevstudios . com will reach me for the user account.

No problem on the hands-off spots.

I’ve never setup a temp admin account – never needed to.

What I mean by temp is it’s not meant to be used long term, gets deleted after I’m done using it. Otherwise, it’s just a regular user with and administrator role.
