  • Same here – entering the authorization code from my Google Console gives me an “incorrect” message

Same here, do you found an answer?

This is what I came here to find too…. My message differs just a little bit. I get “There were no profiles found”

Same happening to me on all my sites on a particular server. All my sites on other servers are working fine. I even removed all the firewall rules on the server having the issue with no luck.

May have something to do with not having a proper SSL cert? I was having issues with JetPack along these lines in the past and had to put a line in the wp conf file saying not use SSL when connecting to JetPack API.

It’s happening to me, too. Could someone please answer this?

Same here, it will not ‘get’ the code or accept the entered code.

I have no idea if this will help anyone, but I got mine working.

Firstly I tried a different browser (safari) the authorise button worked, I received a code to copy and paste – this is not a UA- code as I thought, it’s quite a long format code alpha/numeric.

    That code didn’t work.

I have 2 email addresses authorised as manager logins set up for Googles webmaster and Console tools to manage the 1 site.

I tried authenticating again, using the 2nd email address, and everything worked (despite both email addresses having the manager level).

I’m unsure where to find the Google access code manually to post a URL here, I just got lucky trying the other email.

I was using Firefox before. If anyone has knowledge on finding that Google authorisation code URL, I think that would be really helpful.

    Good luck ??

I was able to get a code, but it is incorrect, apparently. I tried adding my second email address (which is what I use on my website) and I still got an incorrect code. I’m using Chrome.

    Hi everyone!

finally, i add the code in the header and is working well, but i saw one thing, XML Sitemaps also dont work!

Can you test it? and let me know

i will take out the plugin and try again.

I’m also getting the message “there were no profiles found” when entering the authorization code. I’ve tried using a different email, but it didn’t make a difference.

I have multiple websites and when I entered the code, it brought up the url of one of my other sites. It asked me to save profile or re-authenticate. I couldn’t type in the url of my current site. For me, I’m sure this is operator error. Can anyone help?

I don’t know if this will help anyone..But I set up Google Webmaster Tools and then tried the confirmation code again & it worked.

    Maybe this made a difference.

I also set the sitemap for my site while there…then the code worked ..

Maybe they just fixed the bug.

    Thanks

I already have Google Webmaster Tools, so that doesn’t help me. Tried and failed again today. Would like to sort this one out, please.

I have the free version, and I am having the same problem.

Out of 15 websites, all with the same theme and format, only 6 came up with the correct website URL for “Current Settings”.

I have no idea why the Search Console settings worked for 6 websites and not for the other 9. I tried everything I could think of to no avail.

I finally had to disable the SEO XML sitemap functionality and go back to “Google Sitemap” for the 9 that failed.
