403 error that comes and goes

  • Hi,

    Occasionally I receive a strange 403 error “The website declined to show this webpage” when visiting a site that I maintain for someone. The problem is that my boss gets upset when the site shows the 403 because people need to see the site from here.

    It seems the 403 error will last a short time and then I will be able to access the site fine later.

    I have
    4.8.0 ithemes security and
    4.2.4 wordpress version.

    It has never happened to me before when viewing it from another location. It only occasionally shows the 403 error when I view it from here.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    It’s odd that the 403 comes and goes. If you disable iThemes Security does this still happen?

    Can you whitelist your IP and see if that helps?
