Images Order in WordPress Gallery

  • Hi everybody,
    with the last WordPress version (4.2.3), if I upload a new gallery in a page, the order of the pictures when i click on the “next image” or “previous image” is that of the upload in media gallery. Also if I drag and drop the thumbnails, the order doesn’t change.

  • Hello Dino,

    As I understand you issue – it is as follows:
    1. you uploaded images to the gallery;
    2. uploaded images are displayed in order that they were uploaded;
    3. you want to change the order of their appearance on the website;
    4. for this purpose you drag-and-drop images in the Editor in you Admin panel;
    5. then you save the changes;
    6. BUT on the website – the order is still the same.

    Please correct me if I am right.

    Dear Eugene, thank you for your speed reply.

    My issue is just what you describe in your six point! I can’t find a solution!!!

    I tried with my second website (same WordPress version but differente theme): I have the some problem.

    Hi Dino,

    First of all, please make sure that you save changes after changing order of images in your Admin panel. (as I understand, order can _CAN_ be changed in Admin panel)
    After that open the gallery in your website(https://www.turismoinserbia.it/gallery/altri-luoghi/nis/) and refresh the page with
    Ctrl+F5
    who knows, may be the issue is caused by old cache in your browser.

    If it won’t help – let me know the Name of plugin you use for building the gallery.

    Dear Eugene, I save everytime I change something. I don’t think that the problem is the cache because the issue is for many days and for all the PC I try.
    After, I have not a plug-in for gallery (it is the native function of WordPress).
    I hope to solve.

    Hi Dino,

    Hmmm, without looking at your admin panel it is very similar to kind of
    poltergeist ??
    Are you sure that there is no very little and imperceptible checkbox ‘sort randomly’ or ‘sort by name/date/etc.’?
    But seriously, could you please show screenshot of your admin panel while you configure the appearance(order) of images in the gallery?
    Please also confirm that you drag and drop images when you modify the POST and not inside the MEDIA LIBRARY.
