This plugin works very well for desktop and mobile users on my responsive-themed website https://structuredfoundationrepairshouston.com

I used it initially to stick the narrow black “topbar” div with a Call To Action at the top of my home/blog page. This functioned well but was not the location for conversion as often as one might think. (This site converts organic traffic at a healthy 12.37%.)

Now I’m using Sticky Menu to enhance a CTA located at the end of the first blog post, and, I am testing with expectations of an increased percentage of conversions.

Is it possible to modify the plugin to stick to the browser bottom-of-page rather than the top? Is this an option you would consider adding?

    Best regards, Dennis

  • I’m not entirely sure what functionality you’d need here.

Do you mean that when an element enters the screen (from the bottom), the moment it’s fully visible it should stick there at the bottom?

If that’s what you need, then that’s possible with a little bit of custom coding, but I don’t think I can easily build that in the current version.

Thanks for your prompt response Mark.

You’ve interpreted my need exactly. When the bottom of the selected element rises to the bottom of the browser window ( “is fully visible” ) the element should stop and remain there while the remaining body content scrolls past it.

This position will result in the maximum conversion rate I think. It would be particularly advantageous on mobile browsers.

Do let me know when you may be available to code this; I assume it will be after the next version is released.

I’ll try to work on this this week. It would be a custom build though, so you have to make sure you won’t update it once a new public version is released, or else your customized version would be overwritten.

    Wow! That would be fantastic!
I look forward to hearing from you.

I’m also looking for that functionality. Will you be adding that to the plugin?

@deforeman @tsmulugeta I’ve got an experimental, custom version available for you guys. What this will do, is when the element will be fully visible (after scrolled in from the bottom), it will stick at the bottom of the page.

Like the original version, it will still leave a “gap” where the original element is placed. Only now, you will actually SEE that gap (in the original version, it will be “above” your page, scrolled out of view).

If I would remove that gap, there will be a nasty “jerk” on the page between the normal state and the moment it becomes sticky. I admit this is a little bit of a tricky issue.

Please download the files here: https://www.senff.com/sticky-menu-or-anything-on-scroll-CUSTOM.zip and let me know what you think and if it’s helpful at all.

Unzip it and replace all the files of the original plugin.

Mark, I’m sure I’ve already complimented you via PM on this plugin’s “browser bottom-of-page” functionality. If not, then let me do so again: Sticky Menu On Scroll’s ability to increase conversions is significant!

The plugin installs quickly, works smoothly on desktop or mobile, and functions across several maker’s themes without issue. https://structuredfoundationrepairshouston.com

The only real limitation is my ability to accurately identify the div or class item to be “stuck” ??

Absent PEBCK, this is a great plugin!

    Well done Mark.
