• I’m trying to edit some text on one of the pages on my blog. I can’t find the text on the page in the editor that it’s support to be on. How do I fix this? I’m driving myself bonkers trying to figure out where the text is.

  • Hi,

    Do you have a link to the page this is occurring on?

    Cheers

    Hi Tessa,

    It’s this link here: I can’t see the text for the bottom two paragraphs (implementation + support).
    https://www.vardentech.com/careers-info/careers-current-openings/

    If I delete the Sales Exec part and the text above about seeking enthusiastic people, I don’t see any text at all. But if I hit update and go back to this page, I see those 2 paragraphs on the site.

    Can’t seem to figure out the issue!

    Hi,

    Thanks for the link.

    Are there any shortcodes being used on that page? If you switch to the Text view in the editor, can you see the text in there?

    It could also be some code that’s in the page template being used. Is that page using a specific page template?

    Hi,

    I don’t know about any shortcodes or anything in the page template, the only template would be the one for the site.

    If I switch to the Text view in the editor I can only see the part about looking for enthusiastic people + the senior software sales role.

    Hi,

    When you go to edit the page, over on the right-hand side is a section called “Page Attributes.” In that box, there is a dropdown menu called Template. Is there a page template selected in that box?

    Hi Tessa,

    Yes it says “Default Template”

    Hmmm. I’m not sure I can help too much more without being able to look around your Dashboard myself. If you want a quick fix, you can put the following code into your style.css:

    .careers {
      display: none;
    }

    But this is just a band-aid, hiding the class that the text appears in.

    I’d be happy to have a look at the back-end of the site for you if you like – you would just need to send login details to me at tessa (at) tessaneedham (dot) com.
