More documentation or finer control over extracts

    Hello.

    is there any more documentation (in “baby language”) or a way to better control the text extract shown? I am a new user and have set this up with Facebook and got it to publish.

    I would prefer to say “post the first sentence” or “post the first paragraph” of a post rather than the extract or extract with number of words.

    So then I could have

    %TITLE%

    %HERE IS THE TEXT BLAH BLAH BLAH TO THE END OF THE PARAGRAPH IN POST.%

    (also, to the developer, if one updates NOW to “pro” is the coming soon v4 included in the licence, or should one wait a short time? The “Pro” features aren’t critical but if I get this plugin doing all it seems to promise, it is a way to support development).

    Thanks. This presumes the user is a fluent “tech speaker” but which is the option for “first sentence” or “first paragraph” as so far I can’t exactly see them.

    Please remember YOU know what they mean as YOU wrote the plugin.

    For example whose “processed” does this mean? %EXCERPT% – Inserts the excerpt of the post (processed) and how is an excerpt determined.

    It might be obvious to those who know…

    Simpler “first sentence”, “first paragraph” options would be much better as alternatives.

    “raw” means plugin will insert the text exactly as you typed it in the post text field.

    “processed” means that plugin will insert whatever will be the result of the text you typed it in the post text field after is processed by WordPress itself, your theme and all plugins you might have installed in your system.

    Thanks (sorry for the delayed response).

    Developers should remember that not every user will talk the same technical talk (whatever language they use) and thus what might be obvious to one in one language, can be different to another.

    I shall give it a further kick and see what happens. Regards, Darren
