    Hi,

Elamaran again. Hope you enjoyed your holidays. And, thanks for the great free plugin, Enhanced Categories!

I chose to let the user select the category first and then the subcategory while submitting a listing. But, apart from using csv import, I could see no way to let the user select multiple categories (from the frontend, of course).

Please help me on what should be done to let users choose multiple categories for their listings. Help is much appreciated.

    Hi Elamaran,

You can allow for multiple selection on categories by changing the type of control used for the category field under Directory Admin->Manage form Fields.

One word of caution–because categories are tied to fee plans, when you allow for multi-category selection, if you are charging fees, your users may be charged per category (depending on how you set your fees up). Just something to be aware of.

    Hi,

I’ve made the category field type as multiselect. I still can’t see multiselect option for categories in the frontend. Please help.

Are you running a cache on your site? Making a change like that may not immediately appear after you set it. You need to flush the cache to see the current state of your site after a change like that.

If you still see the issue, can you show me a screenshot of the field settings under Directory Admin->Manage Form Fields and a link to the Submit Listing page?

Problem Solved. Unchecked “Force Selection of Parent Category before child category” under Manageoptions ->Listings-> Main Directory Behaviour.

Glad you solved it. Please don’t post credentials in a public forum like this–it’s not safe to do so.
