• I’m just wondering if there is any way to do the following.

I have a gallery and Foobox Pro. When a thumbnail is clicked on it opens in FooBox which is how I want it. THEN if the user click on the image in the lightbox I would like them to be redirected to an external URL. So they see the large image first before choosing to visit the external site if they want.

I understand how to link the thumbnail directly to an external URL but need the large image to open first and then another click will redirects them.

Any ideas how to achieve this?

    Thanks.

  • I have the exact same question. Have posted it here and in the foobox pro support. No reply either place…

    Anybody?

This feature does not exist currently in FooBox. It would require some custom JS to achieve what you are wanting.

Where and how are you storing the redirect URL for each image? This could entail creating a custom attachment field…

Hello, I am quite interested if this can be done. I have a paid version of FooBox as well but have only posted here so far. If you need me to put in a Pro support ticket then I would happy to do this.

I think keeping the same URL box that is there at the moment (ie “image Link” field) should be OK but just have an option to link from either the thumbnail OR redirect from the full lightbox image.

Hopefully this way it will be easier to program and no extra fields required.

Let me know if you want to continue the discussion elsewhere?

Thanks for looking at it anyway.

    Bradvin,

This is my initial pro request: https://docs.fooplugins.com/support/topic/cant-link-attached-images-to-external-sources-webpage-youtube-etc/

However since I got no reply I posted a new thread: https://docs.fooplugins.com/support/topic/open-external-urls-in-foobox-from-images-inside-foogallery/

On that one I have a slightly different answer saying: “That should be possible. Can you link to your site so I can have a look at the source?”

Anyways I have set up a testpage so lets take it from there.

Sorry about any confusion caused! I just need to know what to do. Am willing to pay for any extra services needed.

Sorry, in my post above I meant you could use the “FooGallery Custom URL” field as the destination URL for when the large lightbox image is clicked on.
