• Hi everyone,
I’m trying to make a website that allows users to see what books there are available for borrowing from other members of the community. Users can log in (through wordpress or fb) to message the person who has the book. They can also add books themselves, which are then transferred to a searchable database.

So far I’ve been unable to figure out to make this. I first tried WebLibrarian, but it’s based in the US and when i tried editing its database to allow people to input telephone numbers outside that format, everything broke down and I ended up deleting the subdomain it was hosted on.

Then i tried Joomla but i couldn’t get the Facebook log in to work despite trying several (free) extensions.

Now I’m back on wordpress, using Form Generator (Jotform), which I’ve set up to update a Google Spreadsheet, and using Inline to display that in a page. But I haven’t figured out how to allow users to message each other through it, and at the risk of sounding fussy, I don’t particularly like the way it looks and how difficult it is to make changes (always involves some coding).

My next plan is to allow users to submit posts, each post being a book. 1 main problem I’m running up against is making posts have a certain template, showing only text input fields for Title (could be post title), Author name, Author surname, year first published, Category (from a dropdown menu), comments, and 2 checkboxes, first for whether it’s a textbook, and second for whether it’s available.

Any ideas? Am I on the right track? Do you know of some plugin that does exactly what I’m asking?
    Any help appreciated!!
