Category Subscription Does Not Work

I installed this plugin right now, but it does not seem to work as promised. For example, The description says:
Users can Control on a category-by-category basis whether or not they get messages immediately or in a daily or weekly digest.I need exactly such a feature, but I could not find it. I want my users to be able to select the desired categories and subscribe to those categories. They should also decide how frequently to receive emails, but this plugin does not give them any control over those settings. Even the administrator can not define which categories to include or exclude from the digest newsletter. Am I doing something wrong, or I have misunderstood the above feature?
