How to make a .gif background in 80's theme?

  • I was wondering if anyone knew how I would be able to adjust the css or html in my WordPress editor section in order to make a .gif background for my homepage? I want the top of my home page to just be a .gif image with the title of my site on top of it.

    If anyone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it! Thanks from a beginner.
