• Wordfence notified me of the login below – There is no such user on my site.
I added the username to the “block user immediately” box and they were able to log in again after this was done.

United States Burlington, United States logged in successfully as “adimincik”
    IP: 65.254.225.171 [unblock]
    Hostname: 65-254-225-171.yourhostingaccount.com

I have checked the data tables in my host’s cpanel and there is no such user there either. Some files showed as changed and an index.php file showed in the uploads directory when I ran a scan. I deleted some and reverted the changes for others. I am showing lots of traffic for non-existent pages with pornographic titles which generate 404 errors.
Anyone got any idea what’s going on?

  • Hello,

The user would have to exist in you WordPress database in order for someone to login. You were unable to find one, correct? Did you use something like PHPmyAdmin to look at the MySQL wp_users?

    Thanks,

I did use phpmyadmin to check the users table and there were no new entries in there. There were only two entries and neither of them was anything like the one in the message above.
There is only one entry now.
I engaged lockdown mode and no further “logins” have occurred yet.

Interesting. Sounds like you have it under control. Keep us posted.
