    Im trying install WP on my Godaddy hosting, I’ve followed the steps up to where it tells me this.
    Comment the following lines in wp-settings.php

    //if ( !extension_loaded(’mysql’) )
    // die( ‘Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.’ );

    I am not sure why these lines need to be commented out even though the MySQL extensions has been loaded.

    I’m clueless on what to do here. I’ve found the text they are refering to I just don’t know what they want me to do with it.

  • You will need to change/upgrade your account to a Linux (PHP) or Deluxe Windows with CGI for WordPress to work.

    How to upgrade your existing hosting plan with GoDaddy.
    1. Login to your account at https://www.godaddy.com
    2. Hover over Hosting & Servers, click on My Hosting Account
    3. Click on your domain name under the Hosting Account column
    4. On the right, click on Upgrade/Downgrade Hosting Plan
    5. Select the new plan. Any plan with PHP is preferable, but a Deluxe Windows with CGI will also work.

    Also, please note WordPress does not work with accounts that Godaddy calls “Free with Domain”.
