[Plugin Revolution slider] slow to load after WordPress upgrade

    I upgraded two websites from WordPress 3.9 to 4.1.5 as well as the Revolution slider plugin to version: 4.6.5 , because it had a security hole. (I upgraded to the latest WordPress v 4.2.2 in local dev / sandbox for testing purposes but there is still no improvement even on a local host). However since the upgrades the Revolution sliders for both website are extremely slow to load.

    It appears to be a cache problem… How to remedy this problem?
