    Hello all,
    I am using contact form 7 in a theme. The sending of the mail is alright, everything works fine except that always the ?Failed to send…“ message is shown which is quite confusing because in fact all mails that I tested always arrive.

    Anyone had the same issue?

    I cannot find anything around similar to this.

    Try deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme.

    thanks for your response!
    I deactivated all plugIns (except WP Bakery without whom my page didn’t start)
    Same result.
    I recognized that in some contact forms that I defined messed up a little with the tags (not generating them as proposed)

    Yet I did a new contact form from the start with the minimal settings and didn’t change anything. Used this one, same error message.

    Note: ALL email that I send with all contact forms I did always arrived, only the success message won’t show up in any case.

    I have no more idea what to do.:-(

    Now I definitely redefined all contact forms in the right manner.
    All show the same error alert (all arrive as usual, with all tags correctly filled etc.)

    If it would’t be so dangerous for the future I would be tempted to change the failure message into the successful message and everything would be alright. Weird though.

    I’m seeing the same issue now as well. Sender gets an error message, but message does arrive. Hopefully someone will get to the bottom of this soon.

    fyi… I also contemplated changing the error message.

    this indeed gives me some comfort not to be alone with this!
    I tried many things…

    ?? Change the message would be the ultimate hack :-))
    But beware of the future…

    I tried to duplicate the error on a different site and I couldn’t re-create the issue. It must be something to do with captcha maybe? Have you tried disabling captcha, spam protection or other security?

    is this other site on the same server? (guess not)
    I tried disactivating all plugIns. Captcha is switched off in any case.

    I selectively removed each plugin, disabled Captcha, disabled Mandrill… etc

    I tried to replicate the issue on a different WP site (different server), but I was unable to re-create the problem.

    It can be caused by a server-side warning or error.

    I’d recommend you install Postman SMTP Mailer/Email Log which includes excellent email debugging.

    The error message disappears when I disabled the wpMandrill plugin.

    Are you using wpMandrill or another mail handler? Could be it.

    Lucky benny!

    I switched off all my plugIns (except one, see above) and no result.

    @buzztone: I am close to install this plugIn but I am a little afraid that it will mess up all my email system in wp. For this is one the matters that I never quite well understood. All those dubious server permissions and so on. Makes me shiver.

    When this plugIn (in case) would be deinstalled again, will everything turn as it was?
    Can you give me an idea of how to debug this error with the help of it?

    i’ve the same problem seen after upgrade WordPress in 4.2.2. Before Form7 worked.

    Yes – but it’s always wise to make a full backup just in case you have some unexpected problem.

    Postman SMTP Mailer/Email Log has good documentation plus an associated blog which covers this and several other common CF7 problems.

    Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.
