popup only when user clicks link

is there anyway that the popup is only triggered on clicking a link. this is important for my project prior to purchase
please explain how this can be done. i cannot find it in any of your documentation – even though i see how to create the link…ie…href=”#spu-2567″

But i dont know how to configure the settings so it only popups when user clicks link. thank you. Laurie Martin
