IMAGES IN CALENDAR EVENT DATE

I have tried FullCalendar and Spider Calendar. I would like to have an image of the event in the calendar. I have tried putting #_EVENTIMAGE into events>settings>general>full calendar options>Event Title Format, but it only displays the html code in the calendar. Thanks in advance for your help.
