I am having trouble trouble with updating pages, posts and comments etc when both “add-meta-tags” and W3 Total Cache are “active”. If disable the “add-meta-tags” i can make all changes and edits OK, but as soon as I re-enable “add-mata-tags” the problems returns. Also if you try to empty the chache using the W3 Total chache “Empty Cache” button the whole admin area totally disapears leaving a Blank browser page, you then have to use the “Back” to return to you admin area.

I have tried disabling all other plugins leaving just the “add-Meta-Tags” and the “W3 Total cache” active but the problem still exist so the conflict is definately with these 2 plugins.

I am using a “cyberchimp” iFeature Pro 5 theme

    the website is https://gastricbandfrance.co.uk

    any assistance or comments welcome.

    Hello Geoff,

I have no explanation for this behavior. Do you have any error/warning messages in the error log? Although I haven’t used the two plugins together recently, there are no known conflicts. Time permitting, I’ll try to test them myself soon.

Could you please try the following:

    1) switch to a default theme, eg twentyfifteen
    2) keep only add-meta-tags and w3tc activated
    3) clear your web browser cache
    4) then test if everything works as expected

If everything works as expected, then please switch to your regular theme and try again.

Please let me know if the problem persists.

    Kind Regards,
    George

    Hi there
Thanks for getting back so quickly. I checked in the error logs and the errors referenced were all relating to “File name too long” from the W3tc plugin. I then did as you suggest and swithced to “2015” theme (for reference make sure you back up first)and tried de activating all plugins etc.

this seemed to clear the problem so I switched back to my CyberChimps theme and everything worked fine after clearing the caches manually by FTP.

I must assume that there was a pre existing error in either the themes files or w3tc files.

So thanks for your very prompt and helpful support which is very much appreciated.
