Increase to Full Page Width for Oxygen theme (easily).

I’m looking to increase the page width in my Oxygen theme to FULL. I want to keep my left sidebar/widget area but if this isn’t achievable – that’s okay. Is there a footer area where I can display important widgets/text? Also, I want to incorporate the SLIDER on my homepage but when I create and publish a new homepage in order to make my SLIDER – it shows up blank – even when switching to static page and sticky notes. I also tried changing my featured image, uploading a new one completely from my computer and still – nothing.
