Search result alignment issues

I’ve just created a new website and am having issues with alignment of my search results.
Example:

I want it to display similar to my homepage, where the category and text snippets are aligned to the right of the date, but at the moment they overlap.

I’d also like to centre the navigation menu in the header. I’ve tried a couple of things including text-align: center and changing the float, but it seems to only centre the sublinks (which I want to keep aligned to the left) and can’t seem to find the main header part of the css.

I’ve spent many hours googling for solutions but haven’t found a working solution yet – any help would be much appreciated!
