• I have several “submitted” comments with lorem ipsum in the comments section of the admin site that were posted by admin – most likely put there through past themes that have been since removed. There is no checkbox by the comments, and the comments do not appear on the site proper. The browser doesn’t matter. How can I remove these comments? I am the admin.

  • Yes someone else had this recently. The fix they found was to reinstall the plugin that created the comments, they could then be deleted, then the unwanted plugin was deleted again.

If you don’t know what plugin or theme was active when the comments were created, I think you’d have to first get the comment IDs from the admin page and use phpMyAdmin to delete the unwanted comments from the wp_comments table. I should backup the database before editing it directly.

    Thank you.
No plugin was implicated. phpMyAdmin did the trick.
