I have a WordPress hosted blog that I want to transfer to a HostGator hosted blog.

It should be an exact replica.
(URL: Currently iamlovingdotorg.wordpress.com Premium WordPress Plan with domain mapping to iamloving.org)

The backup option offered by WordPress is only producing a tiny xml like text file. I believe I will not be able to restore my blog, pictures, and attachments in their entirety.

I wish I could enter the file system and zip up the entire root directory. I don’t have permission to do this. Can I ask WordPress to do this for me?

There are WordPress plugins that automate the backup process but I am not allowed to install plugins because my blog is WordPress-hosted, not self-hosted yet.

    Am I in a Catch-22 now?
