I am trying to figure out if this plugin will work for a project I’m working on for a client. I started plugging in a few questions and answers and every time I go to hit Publish (or Update) it gives me a “fatal error” message on a white screen and then deletes everything I entered. It saves the tree in the menu, but deletes all of the information inside it.

    Here is the error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_slash() in /home/onestudent/www/wp-content/plugins/sidecar-decision-tree/DecisionTree.php on line 143

Perhaps it’s because they are on an ancient version of WordPress?

  • JenniMcKay – Possibly! A little research shows that wp_slash() was introduced in 3.6. Do you know what ancient version of WordPress they’re using?

If it’s before 3.6, then my apologies! I see that we say we work back as far as 3.0, which might not be correct.

JenniMcKay – I just used MultiPressDev to install all versions of WordPress:

After installing our plugin in both 3.5 and 3.6, I was able to reproduce your error. So, indeed, sorry! Our docs say we support back to 3.0, but for now we only support back to 3.6. We’ll certainly fix our docs to say we only support 3.6 and later and we’ll also look to add support for earlier versions.

For now, your only option is up upgrade WordPress to at least 3.6 or later.
