Having trouble using fonts – new WP user
-
Hi
I’ve moved from Blogger to WordPress (finally – hooray!), and so far have found WordPress to be mostly self-explanatory and easy to use. Failing that – Google has helped me so far (“Google Is Your Friend” etc)
One thing I can’t get my head around, or find the right answer for, is fonts – probably because I’m so used to Bloggers method.
From my Googling, I know that WordPress doesn’t have an easy ‘highlight text > select font from a menu’ system. That’s fine and I understand that. I understand blog posts and pages ‘should’ get their font styling all from CSS, so there is no need to select a font – the style sheet should do this for you.
However, this isn’t working for me.
I have some text, in notepad (and therefore formatting free), and I paste this into the ‘text’ editor of the page (not the ‘visual’ editor). I then save the page and preview – and the page seems to always pick up some kind of Times new Roman style font, rather than the font in all of my blogs (which were imported using a file – XML I think).
I inspect element, and it shows the font as ‘inherit’ – I’ve not come across that before.
So I’m stuck, and in real need of some help for something which is probably very simple when you know how.
FYI I’m using the MH Newsdesk (premium) template, and have imported my blogger posts using a file (manually).
Thanks in advance
