Weird: no CommentLuv on pending comments, but only on spam!

    For roughly 4 weeks we keep noticing this weird behaviour of CommentLuv:
    NONE of the comments submitted by our regular commenters have a CommentLuv link below (although most are experienced bloggers with established sites, and certainly know your plugin from other sites)!
    Yet all comments we find in our SPAM folder have CommentLuv links below!

    Since we’re travelling off the beaten track in South America I have very little online access (right now not even enough to post to our blog) – I can’t go through hours of problem solving…

    I come here because I get an email notification about a reply to a problem I still have – only to find your meaningless blah-blah…

    Since there was no solution provided by support I went to great length to analise this problem further, I even opened an account with survey monkey, to get some feed back from other users of my website: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KL67KNQ – all confirm that CommentLuv is not showing on regular comment submissions! I’m at a loss.

    please use the support system if you require support, sorry you were unable to locate the support system on any of the pages that are provided

    you can find the support system by visiting the link that is mentioned in the settings page, the readme file, the download page, commentluv.com and any official commentluv related page.

    sorry that none of your experienced users where able to uncheck and then tick the checkbox for commentluv, that is working fine.

    your problem appears to be caused by your antispam plugin which has renamed the comment textarea to 6a3fd-comment so commentluv does not know to automatically check for posts when someone clicks in to the area. (unticking and then ticking the box, is the only other way to tell commentluv to check)

    commentluv cannot detect if someone clicks in this area because your settings are set to use the name value of ‘comment’

    please visit the settings page and change the value of the comment field name to
    6a3fd-comment

    you can do this by visiting the settings page, expanding the advanced/technical settings area and modifying the name value from ‘comment’ to ‘6a3fd-comment’

    I have long since removed the plugin. Problem was never solved, other sites report the same issue.

    In the meantime there are a lot of discussions on FB groups that links in commentluv dramatically increase your BROKEN LINK count. Blogs discontinued, pages moved or renamed. Another reason to remove the plugin (unless you want to go manually through all of them to fix broken links).

    I guess it’s a case of a good idea gone wrong…
