There are some transients – transients are essentially cache, so normal.

Hi Mike. Thanks for taking the time to respond and for creating such a great such plugin. I just thought I would check to see if this was normal as I noticed that I had about 40,000 transients which meant my database had bloated to over 2GB. I deleted all the transients and its now 70MB. THanks

    What were they called?

We cache searches + geolocation data. it’s cheaper than a full DB query.

They are pretty much all jm_query_….

Right; those are caches on searches. They will be cleanup up periodically, or you can flush them with a plugin.

Thanks Mike. I’ll flush them out regularly using a plugin. It has already increased 300MB since yesterday so I’ll just have to keep on top of things.

Which plugin do you recommend for purging transients?
