WordPress URL changed…site now doesn’t work

Hi all
Briefly, I’ve gotten wordpress up & running for a while now, but at the following location: https://mydomain.com/wordpress/
However, due to some unforeseen boredom last nite, I decided to try create a subdomain, and have wordpress running from the root of that subdomain, as such:
https://subdomain.mydomain.com/I changed the url for the blog somewhere in the ‘settings/options’ after logging in, and thereafter, the blog seems to load, but without the themes etc.
Thereafter I tried to log in but could no longer do so (as I thought i could revert to the old url).
As a last resort, I just deleted the sub-domain, and did an ‘upgrade’, hoping that it’d bring things back to normal.
Apparently I’m wrong.
Any form of help would be most appreciated.
Note: I’m no php expert, but decently knowledgable on database, etc and am not afraid to open up a php file to edit it if i need to.
