  • Sorry for the delay but it can help.
As it is written in description of the plugin :

Automatic user registration if Anyone can register has been enabled under Settings > General > Membership.

Follow up question. Is there any way to import the email address and name of a user from the Oauth provider? I’m creating a site where I want to email users from the backend, and having those details will be important to make the email work and appear more personal.

    Many Thanks in advance.

This function worked for me when I first installed the plugin, however now it doesn’t seem to after multiple attempts at disabling and re-enabling the WP registration function.

garymarkfuller, I believe the answer to your question lies in a combination of things. If the plugin is working as I suspect it’s intended, you need to enable this in your Facebook application, as well as leave this checkbox clear in the plugin: “Suppress default welcome email:”, in turn the user that registered will put that information in upon confirmation of the account.

As an update, I’ve found this on the Facebook application “Force Web OAuth Reauthentication”, that forces the user to put in their Facebook info, but unfortunately it still doesn’t pull the email address despite what is allowed in the application, nor does it prompt an email/pop-up to the newly registered user.

    Hi.

Getting back into wordpress and getting back into web development after a 2 1/2 year hiatus. I have been trying to use your plugin and I am about ready to scream. I’m trying to get this to work with Google as a test before I do anything else. Unfortunately it’s not going well.

    Updated WordPress to current.

General Settings – Have this set to anyone can register.

Google – Have my client ID and secret from google setup

It actually connect to google and asks to share info .. then hangs

I am sure I am doing something REALLY stupid but this should NOT be this hard.
